I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in Portland, Oregon graduating with an MSW from Portland State University in 2012. As a "seasoned" therapist, I bring over a decade of combined experience providing intensive mental health services to at risk children, adolescents, adults and families in urban and rural outpatient mental health clinics, criminal justice, school and residential settings. I have completed numerous hours of post graduate training in a variety of attachment based, trauma informed, cognitive and behavioral evidence based interventions. I have completed over 100 hours of advanced training and certification in domestic relations mediation and have directly improved the lives of couples and families through the mediation process. One of the greatest gifts of doing this work is getting to play a part in and witnessing emotional and relational transformation of my clients. It sometimes doesn't get better than that.
I follow the code of ethics of the National Association of Social Workers and I am accountable to the Board of Licensed Clinical Social Workers of Oregon. This ensures that I am regularly pursuing education and training opportunities that help me and my work stay current and relevant.
I have maintained a mindfulness meditation practice on and off for over 20 years as a way to heal my mind and body. I have found that any time being mindful helps reduce suffering and I know it isn't always easy.
When I am not at The North Portland Growth Place, I am hiking a trail with my life partner, paddling my SUP, enjoying a sunset, dreaming of the ocean or often out and about with my 5 lbs. Chihuahua.
